Asian.GOP Palm Beach Chapter joined the Broward Women’s Republican Club on Tuesday, August 15 at 6:30 p.m. (Olive Garden, 5550 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale) and heard from two great speakers running for office in the State of Florida!
Senator Denise Grimsley, running for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture & Consumer Services. She is a conservative Republican from Florida’s Heartland. She was elected to the Florida Senate in 2012 after serving eight years in the Florida House. Her district includes all of DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee and Glades counties, as well as parts of Polk, Charlotte, and Lee counties. She currently serves as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and as Vice Chair of the Ethics and Elections Committee. Before entering politics, Denise served as Vice President and COO of her family business, Grimsley Oil Company, and is a fifth-generation Floridian involved in the citrus and ranching industries. She is also a registered nurse and hospital administrator as well as a businesswoman.
State Representative Jay Fant, running for Attorney General for the State of Florida. Jay is a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives representing west Jacksonville. He advocates free enterprise, constitutional rights, limited government and family values. Jay serves on the House Judiciary Committee, the Ways and Means Committee and the Civil Justice Subcommittee.This past May, Jay announced his candidacy for Attorney General to defend citizens and their small businesses from the excesses of big government and fraud while promoting law enforcement.Jay is a lawyer who has spent his career in business, particularly community banking and trust.
